ART GALLERIES - MARSHALL BUILDING
I went to the Marshall building on October 17, 2015, and I was able to go into three different galleries, from a different type of artist, that had different types of inspirations, topics, and art movements. Also different ways of creating their artwork by working with oil paint, acrylic paint, and charcoal.
|
HAL KOENING:
was my first artist at the Marshall building, before he was inspired to paint, he was an architect. He would base most of his painting of cities, like Milwaukee, bridges, lakes, and landscapes. Most of his landscapes came from his visit to Italy, his landscapes were base on the beauty of the nature from that part of the world. Also, he began to paint with acrylic, then with black and white, and at the end he ended painting with oil on the canvases for his new and diverse pieces of art work. In each piece he put his skills of architect to eventually come with a realistic structure on the painting that he develops of the city. |
DANIEL FLEMING:
was my second artist that I visit at the Marshall building, and I was able to interview him about his art and how he gets inspired to paint and elaborate his different artwork pieces. At the beginning of each painting that he does, he chooses a color which he uses to cover all the canvas to avoid white spots on the art piece. At the beginning of his career, he began to paint his artwork with acrylic. In all of his art pieces he adds different types of textures of fabrics to his paintings to demonstrate his point of view of the piece, as like he was part of it. Sometimes if he develops mistakes he would paint over it and change complete the topic that he was going to base the painting about. His inspirations to develop the diverse kinds of paintings that elaborates are normally from the ideas that he gets from everyday life situation, but also he gets inspired my the documentaries that he is able to watch and news from around the world that makes up his entire art work. |

PATRICK EARL HAMMIE:
was my third artist that I visit on the Marshall building, however I wasn't able to talk to him about his art because he was looking around the city of Milwaukee because it was his first time in the city and he is originally from Connecticut. For most of his works, he uses oil on canvas medium and he uses western techniques in his art work as well. His art work is base on racial equality by drawing people that have impact his life or have meet in charcoal and then printing them out. |
ART GALLERIES - MIAD COLLEGE
Different artworks that were created by the freshmen students at MIAD.
I went to MIAD, on November of 2015 and I was able to enter at the gallery show from the freshmen at the MIAD collage, most of the art works were base on the students own point of view, fantasy, reality, and the way that they would look at the world by expressing it on the paintings. Each of the piece was related to a topic that the freshmen were focusing on and putting a part of their self's into their art work at the gallery show.
